The Blues Blowtorch Society GM/BOD Meeting – May 21, 2010
GM/BOD meeting called to order at 6:00 pm by Randy Hoffman, President Approved minutes of April GM/BOD meeting. Committee Reports: Membership – Frank Black - 193 Members + 15 Corporate Sponsors = 207 Members Entertainment – J. Balmer – Discuss the BBS 10th Anniversary options for September Third Friday. Merchandise – Ed & Pam Moore - We have no agenda at this time. Education – Steve Mehlberg – I need to order 10 dozen Harmonicas for workshops planned. I have been asked to assist at SPAH, I was wondering if the BBS would pick up the expenses.
Steve, SPAH has a kids seminar that offers Free Harmonica-Free Lessons-Free Lunch, which originated with Buddy Wakefield and last year Judy Smith taught the kids program. The way this seminar is set-up, volunteers are needed to assist. The kids are introduced to the harmonica before being broken up into groups of 5-10 depending on the number kids attending and the number of volunteers available. After the kids have a chance to practice they are lined up to parade in the hotel hallways before returning back to the room where the kids are given a sack lunch. If you would be interested in volunteering to assist in this program let me know because we can always use your help. Thanks for your interest.
